Rietumu Art Gallery hosts the exhibition of Arthur Nikitin

The Art Gallery in the headquarters of Rietumu – Rietumu Capital Centre – houses the exhibition of the outstanding contemporary painter Arthur Nikitin. The exhibition displays the latest artworks including new paintings presented to the audience for the first time.



Arthur Nikitin – an outstanding Latvian painter, well-known all over the world including Russia, the United States and Europe.

The artworks created by Arthur Nikitin are displayed in the Art Museum in Riga, The Pushkin State Museum of Fine Art, The Russian Museum and Tretyakov State Gallery in Moscow as well as held in numerous private collections and other small museums.

Arthur Nikitin was born in Leningrad in 1936, and graduated from the Art Academy of Latvia in 1962.
With unsurpassed expressiveness, the painter showed himself in art, graphics, design and sculpture.

Many fine art experts consider “The Venetian Carnival” to be among the most interesting themes in Nikitin’s artworks – the artist returns to this theme from time to time starting from 1970s.

Over several decades of his artistic life, Arthur Nikitin has participated in more than 400 exhibitions in various countries, and staged 30 personal exhibitions. At present he lives in Riga, Latvia and though he is already 75 years old, he has lots of zing and actively continues to work. His masterpieces are exhibited in the art museums in Riga, Moscow, St. Petersburg and other cities.  

The exhibition of Arthur Nikitin in Rietumu Capital Centre will be open until 16 September. Opening hours – Mon-Fri from 9.00 a.m. till 6 p.m. Free entrance.

The Art Gallery in Rietumu Capital Centre houses the exhibitions of Latvian artists on a regular basis. The Gallery hosted the exhibitions of Imants Vecozols, Alexey Naumov, Dace Liepa, Biruta Delle, Kaspar Zarinsh, Ilze Avotina, Aya Zarina, Laima Bikshe and other talented modern artists.
