To increase the safety of card payments, Rietumu Bank introduces a new security level for online purchases with payment cards.
All users of Rietumu cards, who do not yet have their Digipass device or its mobile analogue Mobile Digipass, are kindly invited to receive it in good time – by 1 December 2020.
The new system is being introduced in accordance with the provisions of European Directive PSD2 (Payment Service Directive 2), setting the latest safety standards for payment systems.
Further on, when making an online payment involving 3D Secure technology, the user of any Rietumu Bank payment card will need to confirm a payment with the digital signature from his Digipass device or its mobile analogue Mobile Digipass.
N.B.: Digipass OTP pendant with one button for confirming online card payments will not be valid!
