The bank’s regulatory capital can
decrease approximately by EUR 4 million.
On 2 December 2025, the Moscow Commercial Court held a hearing on the civil action brought by the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation against Rietumu Banka and other persons. The court of first instance upheld the action.
Since this is a decision of the court of first instance, the bank will lodge an appeal in accordance with the procedure prescribed by law, seeking justice and protection of its legitimate interests.
Operations of Rietumu Banka in the territory of Russia have always been
lawful and compliant with regulations.
Bank will consider all further steps upon it receives and studies the complete text of the court judgement.
The anticipated amount of losses is equal to the value of properties belonging to the bank’s subsidiary in Russia, i.e., EUR 16 million.
In recent years, Rietumu Banka cooperated with the regulatory authority to make all necessary capital adjustments and provisions in relation to remaining assets in Russia. Due to the preventive actions taken, the impact of the court decision on the bank’s regulatory capital will be insubstantial, i.e., a decrease by EUR 4 million.
Therefore, any outcome of the case will not affect daily operations of the bank, further implementation of its strategy and compliance with regulatory requirements. The bank’s capital adequacy and liquidity ratios will remain high, exceeding those required by regulations.
