Rietumu has recently received weird correspondence from private individuals relating to credit cards opening with the Bank. In most cases such letters were from Germany as well as from Austria and Switzerland.
Since according to the internal documents of the bank such order of delivering banking products (without account opening, verification of customer identity and other related formalities ) is not acceptable, all such credit card applications have been ignored by the Bank.
The Bank believes that either some kind of misunderstanding has occurred, or (which is more probable) – this has been an attempt to deceive a group of people from the above-mentioned countries. It is also likely that this people have become the victims of fraudulent activities.
