To maximally increase credit card payments safety, starting from February, Rietumu Bank has introduced an additional security standard for contactless payments.
Now, following five contactless payments, on the sixth time, the credit card holder must confirm the payment with the PIN code. This requirement pertains to all payments by Rietumu cards at points of sale and service in Latvia and abroad.
The new standard fully complies with the provisions of the Payment Services Directive (PSD2) and the payment security principles set by it.
Let us remind you that all new Rietumu credit cards are contactless and allow even faster and more convenient payment for daily purchases – just by hovering your card over the card terminal.
