Rietumu Bank has become an official partner of the international conference “Silicon Valley Comes to the Baltics” to be held in Riga on November 7th.

This annual conference dedicated to the latest technological developments was first held in Vilnius in 2012 and immediately sparked considerable interest. Already then 1,300 people attended the forum, and every next year the amount of participants only grew; it reached the number of 2,500 in last year.

The main idea of organizing the forum is that successful speakers share their experience and knowledge with participants, and, figuratively speaking, help to create a new "Silicon Valley" in the Baltics.

This year the organizers, Lejina & Sleiers company, chose Riga as the venue for the conference. The main topic of this forum is “Money goes where talent grows”. Forum organizers emphasize that new high-tech companies are on the rise today not only in the famous Silicon Valley in the US, but worldwide, including the Baltics, and investors are willing to invest in promising ideas and talented teams.

Just before the conference, a political forum called “Riga Venture Summit” will be held on November 6. It will bring together over 100 politicians, experts and public opinion leaders who will discuss the issues of strengthening the technological eco-system in the Baltic States and contributing to the development of new companies.

During the same time, on November 6, there will also be a competition arranged by conference organizers in collaboration with TechHub Riga Academy — a platform for combining start-ups. The purpose of this competition is to find promising IT start-ups. The process of selecting the “best of the best” among start-ups will take place at the Rietumu bank. The top 10 will participate in a discussion prelusive part of the forum to be held on the same day. And the top 5 will have the opportunity to visit the forum “Silicon Valley Comes to the Baltics”. Also, all the young entrepreneurs-participants of the forum will meet investors from countries with rapidly developing start-ups.

Every year organizers of the event invite the best speakers to participate in the conference. Among this years key participants are ten world-renowned speakers from the US Silicon Valley, representatives of 500 Startup Club, GVA LaunchGurus, TransferWise, Ask.fm, Infogram, owners of start-ups all over the world, founders of their own successful projects, and young entrepreneurs.
