In the end of April, Rietumu Charity Fund sponsored an award of Latvian Union of Journalists for professional achievements in business journalism 2009. As a result of casting, highly respected jury selected the winner – Dmitry Linderman, the journalist of economic newspaper “Biznes&Baltija”, for exclusivity of his articles, which were the most quoted in 2009. Dmitry Lindreman received the “Golden pen” statue as well as the cash prize from Rietumu.
The jury appraised journalists in the following nominations: “Journalism of humanity”, “The best coverage of EU topic”, “The best journalist of high technology”, “Considerable contribution into development of freedom of speech”.
“Although there are comparatively less participants in our competition this year as compared to the previous one, the overall level and quality of papers is much higher. Results show that Latvian journalism is developing and brings up true professionals. We are really proud of these achievements”, noticed Chairman of the Board of Latvian Union of Journalists.
For Rietumu bank’s Charity Fund sponsorship of annual award for best professional achievements in journalism has already become a good tradition.
