Tomorrow, on 31 July, within the framework of the World Jazz Festival, a concert will be held in Dome Square in Riga for all residents and guests of the city. Young jazz musicians from Russia and Estonia who are already popular and favoured with the public will take part in the concert.

The concert is held with the support of the Rietumu Bank Charity Fund.

As informed before, the World Jazz Festival, which promises to be one of the brightest events of the year in Latvia, opened today in Riga.

Concerts of the festival in Latvia will be held with the participation of jazz stars who are world famous and winners of international awards – famous American jazz diva and winner of two Grammy awards Cassandra Wilson, jazz-rock and fusion legends guitarist Lee Ritenour and pianist Dave Grusin, one of the most popular European jazzmen, trumpeter and vocalist Till Brönner, outstanding jazz vocalist Gino Vannelli, Australian vocalist Fantine and world famous saxophone player Igor Butman with his Moscow Jazz Orchestra.

The organisers of the festival took care for a real holiday atmosphere of jazz to be felt in the city. Therefore, within the framework of the festival, open concerts for all who are interested will be held. Thus, talented jazz musicians from Estonia Peedu Kass Trio and Andre Maaker & Ahto Abner, Vadim Eilenkrig Quintet, Polina Zizak and her group from Russia will perform in the very heart of Old Riga on an open-air stage.

“The jazz concert in Dome Square continues the tradition of open-air musical performances accessible to all. By taking a decision about the support of this concert, our fund tried to not only give a present to all connoisseurs of music, but also bring another bright colour into the festive cultural atmosphere of the Riga summer,” noted Chairperson of the Rietumu Bank Charity Fund Inga Sina.

The open concert will be held tomorrow, on 31 July, from 15:00 till 18:00 in Dome Square in Riga; admission is free.
