Rietumu Bank supported the 27
th Riga Cycling Marathon hosted last week in the capital of Latvia. Rietumu has been sponsoring the event for more than 10 years.
This year around 2 thousand (a record number!) professionals and amateurs participated in the marathon. The cyclists could select one of three distances with different levels of difficulty: family distance (12 km), amateur distance (22 km) and national distance (76 km).
Riga Cycling Marathon winner, Tom Skuyinsh – an 18-year old Latvian cycling talent and member of the bank’s cycling team “Rietumu-Delfin”, hit the 76-km distance in 1 hour, 50 minutes and 45 seconds with the average speed 45.8 km per hour.
