Today Rietumu Charity Fund sponsored an annual award of Latvian Union of Journalists for professional achievements in business journalism.
The internet portal Delfi became this year’s winner. The “Golden pen” statue was bestowed to Anatoly Golubev, the editor of Delfi in Russian language.
Highly respected jury, representatives of Latvian Union of Journalists, appraised the award candidates. The jury evaluated high quality, exclusivity and relevance of information published by Delfi.
“Nowadays journalism is moving towards electronic base. On one hand, it fosters democracy within our profession, attracting non-professionals, and on the other – increases the role of journalists in the society” said Yuris Paiders, the chairman of Latvian Union of Journalism.
Rietumu Charity Fund’s sponsorship of the annual award and cash prize for professional achievements in journalism is already the fourth in a row.
