“Rietumu Bank Latvian Open 2010” – the international golf tournament among amateurs – is taking place in Riga from 6 to 8 August.
Over 100 golfers from the Baltics, Great Britain, Italy, Israel, Russia, Germany, France, Turkey and other countries take part in the tournament for the Champion Title of “Rietumu Bank Latvian Open 2010”. Maris Puisitis and Karlis Broders – the best golfers in Latvia – are also among the participants.
The golf tournament takes place already for the 9
th time in Latvia. For the past years this competition has risen to international fame and today Latvian Open is a regular meeting place for the golfers from Latvia and Europe.
Apart from traditional prizes for the winners, this time the organizers of the tournament have prepared a special prize – automobile Jaguar XF. To receive the car, the golfer needs to get the ball directly from the tee into the cup with one shot (Hole-In-One).
The tournament will last for three days and end on Sunday.
