Owing to Rietumu Bank’s financial support a unique photo album “One Day in Latvia. 1987-2007” has been published. The album gives a clear picture of all those social, political, cultural and other changes that occurred in our country throughout the last 20 years.
The book comprises photos reflecting a real day-to-day life in Latvia, its rural and urban citizens 20 years ago, in 1987, and recently, in 2007. Looking through the album, you can see how crucially Latvia changed during the last two decades, recollect the way we lived before, evaluate the changes and think of our present and future.
It astonishes indeed how clearly the photos reflect the reality and initiate comparative and critical thinking to observe and assess oneselves and the world around us, both quantitatively and qualitatively. “One Day in Latvia. 1987-2007” is one of the biggest albums wherever published in Latvia: 520 pages, 495 photos; around 5 kilos in weight.
